Larian Studios is also hoping to release Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox Series later this year after running into technical issues in getting splitscreen co-op to work on the consoles. The PlayStation 5 version of the game was delayed a week to September 6 to allow the team to hit its 60 frames per second performance goal. “I actually don’t know what they’ve planned for it, but I imagine they are going to do something, but I actually don’t know,” he said.īack in June Larian Studios revealed that it was bringing Baldur’s Gate 3’s PC release date forward by a month while indicating the move was done to avoid clashing with the launch of Bethesda’s upcoming sci-fi RPG Starfield. Vincke declined to outline how much of the game could be preloaded ahead of launch. The post also noted that early access save files would not be compatible with the full version of the game at launch, while reasoning that "so much has changed that it’s really worth it to start afresh.”Īs reported by PC Gamer, Larian Studios’ Swen Vincke said in July it would not be advantageous to have the early access version of the game installed, as while “there might be a few bytes that are the same”, the launch game was essentially going to require "a full reinstall”. Rediscover the beloved RPG classic now enhanced for modern adventurers Gather your party of heroes and continue the legendary adventure. Customize your hero, gather your party, and venture forth in this open-world epic where every choice matters. "There will be no pre-loading of the game before then.” Baldurs Gate: Enhanced Edition is a classic fantasy RPG set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons. No other tweaking allowed, and I don't even use the actual walkthrough in the game.“Baldur’s Gate 3 will launch on August 3 at 5pm Ghent time, or your non-Belgian time zone equivalent as shown above," read a community update posted to the RPG's Steam page. For my main, I'm using the half-elf Fighter/Mage character from the official Baldur's Gate Strategy Guide and just use GateKeeper to make her stats match. I'll have to re-create my character, but GateKeeper works for that. I'll probably just play vanilla on my tablet, maybe with Fixpack and Unfinished Business being the only mods. Well, I think I'll mostly just stick to playing BGT on my laptop/desktop. And yes, it sounds like files can be altered, but also sounds like the alterations (at least in the thread linked) caused other breaks. So, it looks like this issue between BGT and GemRB goes back to 2009 and hasn't been fixed yet? Ouch. I will point you to this old post over at Gibberlings, where Avenger states that starting XP is moddable in GemRB. What I can do, however, is say that this surely must be a mod (BGT) issue. Hickory: Guys, I wish I could help you with regard to Android/GemRB, but I have no knowledge of either.
